Description:
Esterbook began manufacturing nibs in the US in the mid 1800s but their real heyday began when they introduced their first interchangeable nib system in 1933. This gave people a huge choice of nibs based on their writing style or purpose: bookkeeping, Gregg shorthand, school or general handwriting etc. with rigid, soft, italic, XXF and oblique nibs among the many options. Esterbrook eventually went out of business but their pens and nibs can still be found in the vintage market.
When Kenro Industries bought the Esterbrook brand , they developed this larger, more modern pen inspired by the Esterbrook tradition and - a stroke of genius - created a Modern to Vintage (MV) adaptor that allows you to use vintage nibs in it.
This Tortoiseshell pen with gold trim is a beautiful, semi-translucent resin in the standard size with a modern, gold plated steel EF number 6 nib. The included MV adaptor with additional converter is fitted with a vintage 9128 extra fine soft nib - please treat it gently, it's probably over 50 years old! I also have a number of other vintage Esterbrook nibs - please ask if interested in an alternative to the 9128.
Filling system: cartridge converter (2 included).
